If you’re currently looking to purchase a new DSLR and are interested in night photography and long exposures, you may be wondering what camera should I choose?
The answer is, pretty much any camera that has a long exposure mode will do for most types of night photography. The bare minimum features needed to take a night photo are:
- BULB or Shutter release mode
- Adjustable ISO
- Adjustable shutter speed
As far as I’m aware all DSLR cameras on the market today have all those features. Some manufacturers such as Nikon have some excellent in-camera software that allow merging of photos to allow some very impressive results when it comes to light painting and long exposures.
